Google not consider buying Twitter earlier

Chief Executive Officer of Google parent Alphabet Inc. Sundar Pichai, considered Google as ‘pro-competitive’

He elaborated that Google never considered buying Twitter Inc. earlier this year nor showed interest in taking over Pinterest Inc.

At the Code Conference in Los Angeles, on Tuesday, Pichai gave some statements in which he categorised Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. as competitors in video space.

According to him, YouTube Shorts is a “great start” and Google’s TikTok competitor. “Competition in tech is hyper-intense,”

In 2020, the US Justice Department sued Google for the search market in violation of antitrust laws and also in the preparation to blame it for dominating the digital advertising market.

Google runs a very popular search engine and only blockage in the way of Microsoft Bing and Yahoo Search.

One question arises about the fee details of paying Apple for keeping Google as the default search engine in the Safari web browser across iPhones, iPads and Macs.

Pichai called it a “standard” deal and the company competed with others for the deal.

 Pichai also presented some details about Google’s purchase of Fitbit and the technology that will  power Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch.
