AMW was founded in the year 2002. The key person behind AMW is Anirudh Bhuwalka. It took 3 years of struggle to release their first truck in 2005.  In the year 2006-7, its revenue grossed from 114 crores to 1000 crore INR. The company entered the Indian market in 2009 through a joint venture with the UK’s Vectra Group. The Company is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Bhewelka began the truck manufacturing unit under the advice of his uncle, Shashi Ruia. He got the road contract in 2002 and he wanted trucks of his specifications.

Which were not available on the market during those days. And he suggested Bhuwelka manufacture them. Later on, Bhuwelka under the funds from his uncle and bank loan started the AMW.

Mr. Anirudh Bhuwalka serves as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Asia Motor Works Limited. Explicitly, he completed his graduation from Babson College with BS in Entrepreneurship.

A consortium of lenders led by IDBI Bank had sought interested parties to demonstrate their ability to infuse at least ₹200 crores as equity and another ₹225 crores as unsecured or promoter long-term loans.

AMW’s product range covers the full range of heavy-duty applications in mining, construction, power, petroleum, roads, highways, other infrastructure projects, and general cargo transportation. In addition, AMW makes tipper bodies, trailers, and other fully built vehicles.

In particular, about 20 billion Rupees investment has been made by the company. Eventually, a plant can produce 50,000 vehicles.  The plant at Bhuj is spread over a sprawling 515-acre area that forms the backbone of the company’s truck manufacturing in India.

The state-of-art manufacturing includes assembly, axles and drivelines, a frame shop, and automated cab painting facilities. Especially, all AMW vehicles undergo stringent testing at our comprehensive testing facilities.

After re-assembly, a semi-automated assembly line ensures that the chassis, engine, wheels, cabs, and other components are integrated to produce trucks fit for any road and any load. Provided that, AMW sources the engines for its trucks from some of the world’s best automotive manufacturers, and that they are Euro-III compliant.

The company also has acquired an export license. Hence, AMW’s vehicles are exported to the SAARC nations including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.

The company is certified to TS16949, by TUV. All the vehicles have won several awards for innovation and performance, including the Truck of the year award.
