SITI Networks Ltd (formerly SITI Cable Network Ltd) is one of India’s largest Multi-System Operators (MSOs) for cable television distribution, belonging to the Essel Group of Subhash Chandra. Like other Essel Group companies (Dish TV, Zee Entertainment), SITI Networks has navigated the debt crisis that hit the group from 2019 onwards, with promoter stake significantly diluted through pledging.

Who Owns SITI Networks?
SITI Networks is part of the Essel Group controlled by Subhash Chandra — the same group that owns Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Dish TV. Due to debt pledging during the Essel Group’s 2019–21 crisis, the promoter stake in SITI Networks has been significantly diluted. Institutional investors and lenders who converted debt to equity now hold substantial portions. SITI Networks competes with Hathway Cable, DEN Networks, and Asianet in the cable MSO space. History of SITI Networks
SITI Cable was built as a cable distribution arm of the Essel Group to complement its content assets (Zee channels) and DTH asset (Dish TV). As the cable MSO, SITI aggregated signals from content providers (including Zee channels) and distributed them via Local Cable Operators (LCOs) across India. The government’s analogue cable switch-off mandate (2012–2017) required cable operators to digitise — SITI invested heavily in conditional access system (CAS) boxes. The post-2016 era of Jio broadband and OTT competition, combined with the Essel Group debt crisis, put SITI Networks under significant financial pressure.
