Mr. Vinod K Dasari, current Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ashok Leyland. Mr. Dasari joined Ashok Leyland in 2005. During the initial stages, he worked as Chief Operating Officer. And was promoted to whole-time Director in 2008. Eventually the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director in 2011. Moreover, also the President of the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) today.
Mr. Vinod K Dasari, graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Louisville, together with a Master’s degree in Engineering from McCormick School of Engineering. Later, an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, both from Northwestern University.
Mr. Dheeraj Gopichand Hinduja, the Chairman of Ashok Leyland. He is also responsible for other Hinduja groups including Hinduja Leyland Finance, Hinduja Foundries, and Hinduja Tech. Also the Co-chairman of Hinduja National Power. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Economics & History from the University College, London, and a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management from the Imperial College, London University.

The Joint Venture partners with Ashok Leyland include:

In 1949, Production began in September at the factory situated at Ennore, north of Madras. Consequently, the first indigenously assembled A40 Austin car was released to the market in India. Ashok Leyland pioneered all the concepts of full-air brakes, power steering, and rear-engine buses.
In 1950, An agreement was reached between the two companies and Ashok Motors got sole rights to import, assemble, and progressively manufacture Leyland trucks for seven years.
In fact, through its subsidiaries, Ashok Leyland is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of Medium and Heavy Commercial vehicles, Light Commercial Vehicles, automotive aggregates, Passenger vehicles, vehicle financing, and engineering design services.
