Who Owns Hero MotoCorp?

Hero MotoCorp is controlled by the Munjal family (Hero Group) — specifically Pawan Munjal (Chairman & MD), son of founder Brijmohan Lall Munjal (now late). The Munjal family holds ~35% promoter stake. Hero MotoCorp was known as Hero Honda until 2011 — when Honda Motor Co. Japan sold its 26% stake after a 27-year JV. Hero rebranded and set up independent R&D (Centre of Innovation & Technology, Jaipur). In 2022, Hero launched Vida, its EV scooter brand.
